BIO
Originally from O'ahu, Chenta Laury is a Maui-based artist and educator. She has exhibited in shows throughout the country and her work is held in numerous private collections, as well as in the Hawai'i State Art Museum in Honolulu.
Chenta received an undergraduate degree in studio art and art history from Oberlin College, a Masters from Harvard University, and a Certificate in Applied Arts from the Fiber Crafts Studio in Chestnut Ridge, NY.
Awards include: Juror’s Choice Award at 2015 “10x10” (Gabriel Anderman and Tim Garcia), Hui No’eau; People’s Choice Award, Runner-Up at 2015 “Schaefer Portrait Challenge”, Schaefer Gallery; Juror’s Choice Award at “Annual Juried Exhibition 2015" (Charles Cohan), Hui No'eau; and People’s Choice Award at "Mālama Wao Akua 2012", Viewpoints Gallery.
